Rain is beautiful.

A long time ago I stopped listening to weather forecasters because
a) I could usually predict Oregon's confusing weather changes better than they could and
b) any weather that is not blue skies and sunshine is described as "dismal, dreary, ugly, nasty" and a slew of other negative adjectives.
Rain is beautiful. Say it with me. Go on, it won't hurt, I promise. Get all those preconceptions pounded into your head out.
Rain is beautiful.
The sound of it on the roof and every available surface like a cozy blanket of sound, giving you that sense of security and connection with the world around.
Rain is beautiful.
The formation of clouds, either sharply outlined or indistinct and fuzzy, like cotton strewn thickly across the sky.
Rain is beautiful.
The cleansing feel of a cool drop of water sliding across your skin, dying of thirst from dry, warm indoor environments.
Rain is beautiful.
Wrapping up in a favourite sweater or comfy blankie and feeling safe and loved.
Rain is beautiful.
Nourishing the Earth, waterways, and all life.
Rain is beautiful. It is not ugly, or something to be hated. It is a water mystery, a mystery of life. It is to be enjoyed for itself, and the moment in which you interact with it.
