Stalkers often access information about victims that is available online. Do you know what information about you is online?
This is why I try to be careful and never use my real name online, as well as not posting my address nor phone number.  Even though most victims know their stalker, I prefer not to take any chances.

Phones, computers, GPS, and cameras are some of the common forms of technology used by stalkers.

Crabs, whales, and rhinos oh my!

4:43 PM Posted In , , , , , , Edit This 0 Comments »
The cutest crab has been recently discovered off of Taiwan. (I refuse to say "new" because it isn't. We just haven't seen one before. It's like referring to Christopher Columbus "discovering" the Americas. No, he didn't. The Native Americans did). Unfortunately, the crabs died soon afterward "possibly because the water in the area was polluted by a cargo ship that ran aground." So, we find a species that we have never encountered before and then manage to go and kill it. Brilliant, just brilliant.
Also being killed off by humans, false killer whales are being considered for the endangered species list. Not to mention another rare white rhino was killed by poachers in Kenya, where hunting has been strictly outlawed since the 1970's. Luckily, they caught most of the killers and the buyers. They are primarily hunted for their horns, which they can actually live without and even grow back because it's the same material as fingernails and hair.
Then the largest freshwater fish in North America, the white sturgeon, has been dwindling because Libby Dam prevents sufficient water flow to allow the prehistoric fish to swim upriver to spawn. Unfortunately, they are only one symptom of the many problems caused by the dam.
Even the North American honeybee has been declining, which puts not only the environment at risk but our agriculture. Although one theory is, is that they are suffering from Colony Collapse Disorder because of climate change.
Not just animals are rapidly disappearing, quiver trees in Namibia are dying out due to drought. But, as we all know, there is no such thing as human-caused climate change.

The G-Spot is a myth! Science says so!

1:16 PM Posted In , , , , Edit This 0 Comments »

"The elusive erogenous zone said to exist in some women may be a myth, say researchers who have hunted for it.

Their study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine is the biggest yet, involving 1,800 women, and it found no proof.

The King's College London team believe the G-spot may be a figment of women's imagination, encouraged by magazines and sex therapists."

My first thought was: "Were all of the researchers men?" No, seriously. I can find mine just fine. I have found those belonging to my ex-girlfriends just fine. But no, we poor widdle women are just confused by whatever Cosmo tells us.

Then I thought, "No, that's not fair. Most of my male partners have been able to find it just fine." The cynic in me (I know, it's shocking because I'm such a Pollyanna) wonders if they set out to find evidence to support their own lack of sexual prowess and knowledge in order to bolster their own pathetic egos. It's more likely that the test subjects did not find a clinical and sterile environment to be conducive to enjoyment and relaxation, as anyone who has ever had an annual will tell you.

It's not surprising, however, considering we females are so stupid that we can't even tell when we are aroused. Gee, it couldn't be at all related to the stigma that men are expected to be sexual creatures and women are not, unless there is a ring on her finger. Any witch worth her salt could tell you that most women are not in tune with their bodies, living mostly in their head, as a result of being told that we are too fat and too ugly our entire lives. Inundation of "You are not good enough" produces a schism between one's mind and one's physical being that carries over to the soul itself.

Now, if you don't believe in "New Agey crap" just imagine how this translates psychologically. The minds of women are trained over time to first divorce their mental image of themselves with their actual appearance, then dissociate the mind from the body. And we wonder why cases of eating disorders are skyrocketing.

Did you know that your new computer has a racism feature?

Gee, you'd think that they'd have tested this before releasing the product. Oh wait, they must have. Which means that all of their beta testers must have been white. Well, it is a new development, after all.
HP's response?

""HP has been informed of a potential issue with the facial-tracking software included on some of its systems, which appears to occur when insufficient foreground lighting is available," an HP spokesman told BBC News.

"We take this seriously and are looking into it with our partners.""

Insufficient foreground lighting? They were in the same amount of light, in the same space even. What they were actually saying was: "You aren't light enough to activate it." Epic fail, folks.

No, kids, global warming is just a commie myth.

"Until recently, the Build-A-Bearville website (part of the Build-A-Bear Workshop) featured online videos telling children about manmade global warming and the dangers it holds for the North Pole. In the videos, little animals learn about the problem and teach Santa Claus about it. The right wing has been outraged over the antics of these bears and penguins. One conservative called for a boycott of Build-A-Bear, and another said the the videos amount to “indoctrination.” In response to this right-wing pressure, Build-A-Bear has taken down the educational videos."
So now science = indoctrination to the evil communist left-wing radicals. Although anyone can see that it's really anything with which we disagree = indoctrination. Say it with me now, "The Greater Good."

Study Shows Women Are "Shallower" Than Men

1:45 PM Posted In , , , Edit This 0 Comments »
The University of Wales Institute performed a recent study showing men and women the same person of the opposite gender in two different cars: a Bentley or a Fiesta. Survey says: women are more attracted to men in nice, expensive cars than ones in crappy, cheap ones. For the men, it made no difference on their attraction to the women's physical appearance. Ergo, women are "shallower" than men because there's "evidence" to support it.
However the irony of evaluating a person's shallowness by having them judge others on physical appearance versus material goods has evidently been completely missed by this genius.

Even Robotic Women Have to Conform

"A new walking, talking robot from Japan has a female face that can smile and has trimmed down to 43 kilogrammes to make a debut at a fashion show.
But it still hasn't cleared safety standards required to share the catwalk with human
models.
Developers at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, a government-backed organisation, said their "cybernetic human," wasn't ready to help with daily chores or work side by side with people - as many hope robots will be able to do in the future.
"Technologically, it hasn't reached that level," said Hirohisa Hirukawa, one of the robot's developers. "Even as a fashion model, people in the industry told us she was short and had a rather ordinary figure."
For now, the 158 centimetre tall black-haired robot code-named HRP-4C - whose predecessor had weighed 58 kg - will mainly serve to draw and entertain crowds.
Developers said the robot may be used in amusement parks or to perform simulations of human movement, as an exercise instructor, for instance.
HRP-4C was designed to look like an average Japanese woman, although its silver-and-black body recalls a space suit.
It will appear in a Tokyo fashion show - without any clothes - in a special section just for the robot next week."
43 kg = about 95 pounds. 58 kg = about 117 lbs. 158 cm = about 5' 2"?
So the first model was too "fat" and they had to slim it down. Then the first two "career" options are housework and modeling. Oh wait, she's not thin/tall/pretty enough to be a model. What does that say about the current artificial concept of feminine beauty if even robots fall short of the ideal? Ergo being too heavy, unpretty, and sucks at household chores she is a "bad" woman.
And since when do robots have gender, anyway? If it was designed to be a "male" robot, would they still be complaining about the same "faults"? Oh that's right, it's a robot so it is designed to be submissive to another's will which means it has to be female in order to be willingly controlled by another.

Nuclear Energy is not Clean Energy

10:19 AM Posted In , , , Edit This 1 Comment »
The biggest problem with the mini nuclear reactors is the nuclear waste. The units would require refueling every 7-10 years, indicating that waste would be produced. Considering our current method of disposal is encasing it in cement and burying it and pray that in the next 1,000 years it doesn't leak or accidentally become unearthed, the mass sales estimated by Hyperion would produce large amounts of radioactive waste which we would simply bury.
Bronn said that our technology tends to develop only once a need arises (a.k.a. "necessity is the mother of all invention"), and we would come up with a better method. It is dumb and irresponsible to create radioactive waste on these levels before having a viable solution for dealing with the waste.
And no, we can't shoot it into space either for a number of reasons.

Your own personal, NUCLEAR REACTOR

"Nuclear power plants smaller than a garden shed and able to power 20,000 homes will be on sale within five years, say scientists at Los Alamos, the US government laboratory which developed the first atomic bomb.
The miniature reactors will be factory-sealed, contain no weapons-grade material, have no moving parts and will be nearly impossible to steal because they will be encased in concrete and buried underground."
Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea? Thanks to Bronn, who told me about this.

Geek "Duh" moment

Bronn and I were eating out. He prefers to put ice in his coffee and I tend to drink tons of icewater. I'm one of those who will ask the waiter for an entire pitcher to myself after a night of partying. Sitting in the booth, I watch the ice cubes floating in our respective drinks. What is going through my little head, you wonder?

"If cold objects sink and hot liquids rise due to relative density, then why isn't the ice sinking?"

Um, could it be because water expands when it freezes, changing it's density?

While I realize that this may not be readily apparent to all, it was definitely a "Here's Your Sign" moment for me.
