Gun owners freaking out again.

Question #59 deals with gun ownership.

They really have been panicking. And it would make sense that Obama's administration might want to avoid something like Cheney's little incident in someone's past. Considering he's the first African-American president, they're going to have to be extra tough on the type of people they have working for him. And it's not an unusual question. I have seen and answered similar ones when volunteering in courthouses or while applying for government employment.

I'm pretty firmly in support of the second amendment, and even I find no problem with this. YOU'RE APPLYING TO WORK WITH THE PRESIDENT. They have a right to be a little choosy, a little twitchy. Being stupid with guns is a perfectly acceptable reason to not be hired; any presidential staffer could be called a ta moment's notice to defend the president, after all.

This gun owner is concerned, not because of the questionnaire, but because Obama voted in favor of the handgun ban in Chicago and because his website, change.gov, promises to permanently reinstate the Clinton gun ban.
Yes, but using the questionnaire as proof is ridiculous. And according to change.gov he plans on restricting gun ownership to prevent children and criminals, and still respecting the 2nd.

There's a big difference between a shotgun and an assault weapon. Personally, I am all for banning all guns that are only designed to kill people rather than hunting.
